Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Kredits when you use the apps.
Last updated 18 September 2026
1. Who we are
Kredits is operated by Kredits, a sole trader business based in Northern Ireland. Using Kredits means you accept these terms.
2. Who may use Kredits
Kredits is for teachers and other school staff aged 18 or over. Pupils do not get accounts.
You must be authorised by your school to use it with pupil data. You confirm this when you create an account. If you are not sure whether your school permits a tool like Kredits, ask your school’s data protection lead before entering any pupil information. Putting pupil data into Kredits without that authorisation is a breach of these terms, and may be a breach of your school’s own obligations.
3. Your account
You choose a teacher code and a PIN. Keep the PIN to yourself — anyone with it can see your classes. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
Setting a recovery email is optional. Without one, a forgotten PIN cannot be recovered, and the account and its data may be unrecoverable. That is a deliberate trade-off in favour of holding less data about you.
4. Pupil data is your school’s
You decide what goes into Kredits. Your school remains the controller of pupil data; we act as processor on your instructions under the Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms.
You agree not to enter special category data — SEN records, medical information, safeguarding notes, free school meal status or similar. Kredits is not built for it.
5. Plans
The core Kredits apps are free to use. Some features require a paid plan; where they do, the price and billing terms are shown before you subscribe. If a paid plan ends, you keep access to your data and can export or delete it at any time — the paid features simply stop working. Nothing you have entered is deleted because a subscription lapsed.
We will give reasonable notice before changing what is included in the free tier.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Kredits to store anything unlawful, attempt to access another teacher’s account, probe or disrupt the service (other than good-faith security research as described on the Security page), scrape it, or resell access.
7. Google Classroom
Linking Google Classroom is optional. Your use of Google services remains subject to Google’s own terms. We access only the permissions listed in the Privacy Policy, and you can disconnect at any time in Settings.
8. Availability
Kredits is provided as it is, without a guaranteed uptime level. We aim to keep it running during the school day and to avoid disruptive changes in term time, but we do not promise uninterrupted service.
Keep your own records of anything that matters. Kredits is a classroom tool, not a system of record — marks that your school formally relies on should also exist in your school’s own system.
9. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which removes your data. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, and will normally give you notice and a chance to export your data first.
If Kredits is ever discontinued, we will give at least 60 days notice so you can export your data.
10. Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of data where you have not kept your own copy. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period, or £100.
Kredits is a supporting tool. Decisions about pupils — assessment, reporting, intervention — remain your professional judgement and your school’s responsibility.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Kredits after that means you accept the change.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
